Springtime 2010

Join us in celebrating our 39th anniversary. Come let us show you the magic of New York City and why it is called the most exciting city in the world. It's Christmastime or Springtime, and something is in the air. Something that exists no where else. Something that takes place... only in New York!!
Yuletide: A light, gentle snow is falling in Central Park. Skaters bundled in warm woolen coats topped with snug fur caps, glide across the frozen rink. The sweet smell of freshly roasted chestnuts lifts you slightly off your feet. Fifth Avenue is aglow with brightly-colored lights and decorated windows.
Springtime: Central Park is now in full bloom with rowboats on the lake. New York is bursting forth with all the colors of a rainbow. Mild weather brings out the fresh fragrance of blossoming flowers. Street performers-musicians, dancers and mimes-are entertaining audiences throughout the city. Whatever time of year you choose for visiting New York, some things are always in season: Theatre, and oh... what Theatre, from a small improvisational theatre on the Upper East Side to Broadway's blockbuster musicals.
There is also Art, from the Metropolitan Museum to the artist's colony of SoHo; the Statue of Liberty...Radio City Music Hall...the activity of Wall Street...shopping at Macy's and Bloomingdale's...dim sum in Chinatown...pizza in Little Italy...and around every corner a world of entertainment and discovery. It's a blend of the best of all cities and it loves to change its scenery. And thatŐs why it has become known as the "Big Apple." Isn't it about time you took that luscious bite?

DAY 1
Upon your arrival you will be taken to the Edison Hotel, located just off Times Square, directly in the heart of the Theatre District. After check-in, there will be a two-hour guided bus tour of Manhattan, just to get your bearings of the location of all the major sights. The rest of the day and evening will be free to get familiar with some of the Midtown area. A walking tour itinerary is suggested, taking in much of the Broadway Theatre District and surroundings.
DAY 2
Today you will meet with your guide for your first full day of touring the "BIG APPLE." Get the feeling of being a real New Yorker by exploring the city in the best way...subway, buses, taxi and walking (a favorite pastime in New York). Scheduled for today is Greenwich Village, Little Italy, Chinatown and the artists' colony of SoHo. In the evening, as the lights dim, you will see your first show, a Broadway Musical of your choice.
DAY 3
This morning, your guide will be taking you to the tip of Manhattan for your ferry to the Statue of Liberty and the new Ellis Island Museum. No other place or museum explains so well the "melting pot" that formed the unique character of New York and the nation. In the afternoon the ferry will take you back to visit Manhattan's oldest area where colonial churches and early American monuments stand in the shadow of skyscrapers. This evening will be your "Off-Broadway" Production. You might find yourself going to the upper East Side for a fascinating performance by one of New York's premier improvisational groups, Chicago City Limits.
DAY 4
With an early start, it's off to the South Street Seaport. This project was designed to recreate the seaport village which existed on this site over 100 years ago. You will find old world crafts, shops, restaurants and even ships, which are berthed along the docks. In the afternoon there will be a tour of Grand Central Terminal and Midtown Manhattan. Grand Central, the largest train station in the U.S., has been painstakingly restored to its original splendor, and its sheer size is overwhelming. There will also be a tour of the renovated Radio City Music Hall. At a cost of over $70 million, the "hall of halls" is now more beautiful than ever. Your time is free tonight.
DAY 5
Today is a great time to do some exploration on your own. You might want to go down to the Brooklyn Bridge, walk across this massive structure, and find yourself in the heart of Brooklyn Heights (similar to Greenwich Village). From here you will be able to get a fantastic view of the skyline of Manhattan, just across the river. You can then spend the afternoon visiting some of the great museums such as the Metropolitan, Guggenheim or Natural History. Don’t forget about doing some shopping or just "window shopping" at famous Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s or Saks Fifth Avenue, and any of the thousands of stores and shops throughout the city. In the evening your show will be an Off-Broadway production
DAY 6
This morning there will be a selection of workshops by professionals on various facets of New York theatre. You might find yourself practicing on an audition for a TV commercial or taking a dance class at a professional dance studio. You will be departing for home in the late afternoon.
OPTIONAL EXTRA DAY
Should you want to spend an extra day exploring more of the "Big Apple", the cost is only an additional $150.
